What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates your skin’s natural ability to heal by the production of collagen. Microneedling uses 9 micro-needles to create thousands of invisible, vertical perforations into the epidermis and top layer of the dermis. As a result of this controlled treatment application, the skin responds by producing collagen and elastin which leads to a reduction in wrinkles, reduction in pore size, and improving skin texture.
What are the Expected Benefits?
Microneedling involves minimal downtime and quick results. It is a versatile treatment that can be performed on the face, neck, hands, or chest and offer patients a variety of benefits that include:
- Tighter firmer skin
- Improved skin elasticity
- Reduced pore size
- Smoother fine lines and wrinkles
- Improved scars, acne scarring, and hyperpigmentation
- Reduced appearance of stretch marks
What is the Treatment Like?
To keep you comfortable during the Rejuvapen microneedling treatment, a topical numbing gel is applied 20 minutes prior to microneedling. Temporary redness and mild swelling occur after each treatment which typically resolve within 24 – 48 hours.

What Type of Solutions are Used During Microneedling?
Growth factor serums can be applied during the microneedling treatment which promotes better absorption into the skin. Growth factors help shorten healing time and optimize procedure outcomes with visible improvement often in 24 hours. The Rejuvapen treatment is designed to produce tighter, smoother skin, and a more youthful appearance.
How Often Do I Need to Be Treated?
To achieve the best results we recommend 3-6 treatments, one treatment every 4 weeks.
Additional treatments may be necessary or desired depending on skin condition, and follow-up treatments may be considered 3-4 months later or as recommended by your aesthetician.
Who is not a candidate for Microneedling?
Microneedling treatment benefits all skin types and is safe on all skin colors. Anyone who is concerned with fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, skin irregularities, acne scarring, mild stretch marks, mild to moderate loose skin or overall skin health is a candidate for micro-needling.
Any patient with an active infection, active cold sores, or any other viral infection should not have treatment. If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, you should not have treatment. Anyone with a bleeding disorder is not a candidate for this treatment. Patients need to stop using Retin-A at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. If you get scared easily, have a history of keloids or fever blisters, you shouldn’t have treatment without fully discussing your medical history with your aesthetician prior to treatment. No one with a recent sunburn and no one who has received treatment for an autoimmune disease within 72 hours should have treatment. If you have any of these issues, alternative options for skin treatment can be determined and reviewed by our Aestheticians.
